The European Centre for Romanian Unity was established in Brussels this year as the first think tank to promote at EU level the reunification of Romania and Moldova… Following the charitable launch concert which took place at BOZAR, a small donation reached some of the children in need living in the two villages of Codreanca, the Republic of Moldova…

Official ECRU Launch & Charitable Concert "A Century of Longing..."

The official launch of the European Centre for Romanian Unity took place on 26th March at BOZAR, the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels, with an exceptional charitable concert “A Century of Longing...” performed by Romanian artist and Cultural Ambassador GRIGORE LEȘE and his guests: Mihaela Pletea, Maria Chifu and Olga Podobinschi.  

The concert marked 100 YEARS SINCE THE UNIFICATION OF ROMANIA AND BESSARABIA, with an evening of traditional and classical music illustrating a century of hardship, love and hope, a century of longing for unity, and of longing for Europe...

All profits generated from ticket sales are donated to the children living in foster homes in the Ialoveni district, Republic of Moldova.

George Simion, leader of “Acţiunea 2012”, pro-unionist coalition of NGOs in Romania and Moldova, launched his first book in Brussels and invited the Romanian speaking community as well as representatives from the EU institutions to a debate on the existing myths and main challenges regarding the reunification of Romania and Moldova…

 

The money raised from the book sales were donated to the „Cunoaște-ţi Țara” campaign (“Get to Know your Country”). The campaign enables (financially and logistically) people from the Republic of Moldova to visit Romania…

Pro-Unionist Rally in the Heart of the European Union

A pro-unionist rally was organised in Brussels on 1st December 2016, Romania’s National Day, marking 98 years since the establishment of Greater Romania, which also included the geographical territory of what is the Republic of Moldova today. The Republic of Moldova was subsequently annexed by the Soviet Union.

The rally was organised by “Acţiunea 2012” in partnership with the Romanian speaking community in Belgium. It was followed by a press conference and meetings with representatives of EU institutions.
